A Visualization System to Monitor and
Control a Full-scale Life Safety System
The Data
Visualization System DVS 9650 developed
by MST Technology is designed to
visualize and control a full-scale life
safety system. In addition to
providing a detailed system status for
the plant operator, the MST DVS 9650
allows for complete interaction with MST
Technology devices such as Satellites,
Digital or Analog Input Modules and
Relay Output Modules.
The MST DVS
9650 is based on the standard industrial
automation software Wonderware®
InTouch®
and runs on commercial PCs using
standard operating systems.
Extensive field test verify a stable and
reliable software environment. The MST
DVS 9650 is installed on a PC connected
to the Life Safety Network via a
standard Lonworks® interface.
By connecting to the MST DVS 9650
Terminal Server using the Microsoft®
Internet Explorer, you can turn an
existing LAN PC into a MST DVS 9650
Client. The built-in security
features restrict login to authorized
operators and several user profiles can
be defined to classify different access
levels.
The MST DVS
9650 is structured in 3 levels with
background pictures or drawings of the
facility being monitored. Colored
icons, representing the various devices
in use, are arranged according to their
actual positions in the facility for
easy guidance. A color change of
the icon shows the actual status of the
device. A click on an icon calls
up a detailed device screen which is
used for the control (i.e.
acknowledgement of alarms),
configuration of the device (i.e.
setting of alarm levels for the
Satellite), and trend graph information
(i.e. by Satellites).
A list of
events shows the actual events and
alarms status. Events can easily
be filtered by alarm priorities.
All data is stored on the hard disk with
a date and time stamp.
